Somewhere in your league, there's a guy who still brings up his 2019 title. Every. Single. Draft. Imagine how unbearable he'd be if he had a 53-inch strap of metal and leather to wave around while he said it.

That's the magic of fantasy football championship belts. They turn "I won" into a full pro-wrestling entrance. But not every belt fits every league, and "which one do we get?" is a surprisingly fun argument to have in the group chat. This guide is for the commissioner who has to settle it.

We've been making fantasy awards since 2013, so we'll be straight with you about what our belts do well, what they don't do, and how to pick without blowing the league budget on a belt that ends up in someone's garage next to a broken treadmill.

Quick answer: which fantasy football belt should you buy?

  • Want the classic look at the best price? Get the OG belt ($189).
  • Want your league name on the front? Get the Semi-Custom belt ($219). It also comes with two blank mid-plates, which gives you room for 12 to 24 seasons of champions.
  • Tight budget, or want a keepsake the champ keeps every year? Go with the Mini ($49) or the Custom MINI ($75).
  • Shipping: Orders over $200 ship free. Otherwise it's a $5 flat rate in the contiguous US.

OG vs. Semi-Custom vs. Mini: The Side-by-Side

Semi-Custom Belt $219 Your own text on the top and bottom front banners, plus two blank mid-plates for champion plaques Same as the OG Long-running leagues that want their name on the front and a belt that lasts for years
Mini Belt $49 None. It's a straight replica of the full-size belt. 13" long, 6 oz, comes in a black velvet case Yearly keep-it prizes, side pots and small budgets
Custom MINI $75 Custom top and bottom banners 13" long, 6 oz, comes in a black velvet case A personalized prize the champ gets to keep

Both full-size belts weigh about 6 pounds and fit waists from roughly 37" to 49". Our most popular finish by a mile is Black/Gold; check each product page for the other finishes currently in stock.

What to Look for in a Championship Belt

1. Size and presence

Size is the whole point. A championship belt should look ridiculous on a 5'9" accountant, and that's the fun of it. Both of our full-size belts have a 53" strap, a 12" x 9.5" embossed metal front plate with enamel paint, and about 6 pounds of heft, so it reads as a championship belt from across a sports bar (and feels like one on your shoulder).

2. Metal plates, not plastic

Plastic plates scratch, chip and look sad by Week 3 of the next season. Our front, mid and end plates are all metal. The side plates are held on with five small screws, so you can take them off to engrave or swap them out.

3. Room for champions (this matters most)

A belt with no room for names is basically a costume. A belt with a champion history is a perpetual trophy that your league will fight over for a decade. Before you buy, check how many seasons the belt can actually hold. We walk through that math below.

4. Customization you'll actually use

More options isn't always better. Some belts come with dozens of add-ons that most leagues never touch. The things that actually matter are your league name, a list of champions, and maybe a logo. We cover all three without a 40-field order form.

5. A plan for displaying it

If the belt spends 11 months in a closet, the trash talk dies with it. Make a plan to show it off, and budget for a stand if you need one (more on that below).

How the Plate System Works (and the Seasons Math)

This is where our belts earn their keep. Each full-size belt has four side plates: two 4" mid-plates and two 3.5" end-plates.

  • OG belt: one FantasyJocks-branded mid-plate, one blank mid-plate, one blank end-plate and one "Champion" end-plate.
  • Semi-Custom belt: two blank mid-plates, plus the same end-plates as the OG.

The champion list goes on our laser-engraved mid-plate plaques, which cost $9 each. The plaques are peel-and-stick, so updating the belt each year takes about as long as setting your lineup. You can fit up to 6 plaques per mid-plate, with 35 characters per line, and you pick one of two formats:

  • 1 champion per plaque (2 lines, for example team name + year and manager): 6 seasons per mid-plate
  • 2 champions per plaque (1 line each): 12 seasons per mid-plate

The math:

  • OG out of the box (one blank mid-plate): 6 to 12 seasons.
  • Semi-Custom, or an OG with the FantasyJocks plate swapped for a $20 blank mid-plate: 12 to 24 seasons.

Twenty-four seasons is longer than most marriages in your league will last. You only pay $9 when there's a new champion, so the belt grows with the league instead of costing you a pile of money up front.

Customization Options, Explained

  • Front banners (Semi-Custom and Custom MINI): We laser engrave your own text on the top and bottom banners. Keep each banner to about 18 characters, and we strongly recommend ALL CAPS, because it looks better and because championship belts don't whisper. Most leagues use the league name, or something the league lawyer would advise against. Engraved banners follow our 3–5 day processing time.
  • League Name Plaque ($13): Fits the blank 3.5" end-plate. Use it for your league name or a single champion, in one to three lines.
  • Full-Plate Logo Engraving ($29): Covers the entire mid-plate plaque (3.52" x 3.02" engraving area). Your artwork has to be black on a white background, and vector files (EPS or AI) give the best results. You can also use it for a custom-designed champions list, but it can't be added to later.
  • Extra plates: Blank mid-plates and blank end-plates are $20 each in gold or silver, if you want to replace the branded plate or the "Champion" plate.

How to customize a championship belt, step by step: pick your belt and finish, add the banner text (Semi-Custom only), add the League Name Plaque, then add one champion plaque for each past winner you want to honor. Check your spelling twice. We engrave exactly what you type, and "Chmapions" is forever.

Honest note: if you want a completely custom front plate designed around your league logo, our belts aren't built for that. We think the fixed front plate plus custom banners and plaques gets most leagues 90% of the way there for a lot less money.

Championship Belt vs. Trophy

A belt wins on theatrics. You can wear it, pose with it and sling it over your shoulder when you walk into the draft. A trophy wins on shelf presence, and it's easier to pass around without someone "accidentally" wearing it to a wedding.

The bigger question is how your league handles the prize. Does it get passed from champ to champ, or does each winner keep one? We cover that in perpetual vs. yearly fantasy football trophies. A belt with a plaque system is a perpetual award by design. If you'd rather go the traditional route, browse our fantasy football trophies or see our trophy ideas for every budget.

Display Options

  • Championship Belt Display Stand ($29): 5mm acrylic, 9" tall by 9.5" deep. It adjusts to fit any of our belts and needs no assembly.
  • Mini-Belt Display Case ($49): An acrylic case (5.375" x 4.5" x 5.25") with a pedestal that "floats" the Mini. It includes up to 3 lines of free laser engraving. The Mini belt is sold separately.
  • Mini-Belt & Wall Display Plaque ($115): A 16" x 12.5" wood wall plaque with a Mini belt included, set up as a 20-year perpetual trophy. You add champions over time with peel-and-stick plaques. Browse more options in our engraved trophy plaques collection.

What It Really Costs Per Manager

Split it across the league and suddenly you're paying less than a round of wings. These numbers are before tax and assume contiguous US shipping.

Setup Total 10-team 12-team
OG + 1 champion plaque ($9) + League Name Plaque ($13) $211 (free shipping) $21.10 $17.58
Semi-Custom + 1 champion plaque $228 (free shipping) $22.80 $19.00
Semi-Custom + 1 plaque + Display Stand $257 (free shipping) $25.70 $21.42
Custom MINI + Display Case $124 + $5 shipping = $129 $12.90 $10.75

Now spread it over time. A Semi-Custom that holds 12 seasons works out to about $1.58 per manager per year in a 12-team league, plus $9 for a plaque each December.

Care Tips

  • Wipe the PU leather strap with a damp cloth. Skip harsh cleaners, and keep it away from heat and direct sun.
  • Store it flat or on a stand. Don't leave it folded in a trunk for months.
  • Only take the side plates off (5 small screws) when you need to. Keep the screws in a labeled baggie, because they will run off.
  • Clean each mid-plate before you stick on a new champion plaque so the adhesive holds.

Shipping and Processing

  • No engraving? Order before 9:00am CST and it ships the same business day.
  • Anything laser engraved takes 3 to 5 days to process (we usually get them out faster). It's never same-day, so don't wait until the morning of your championship party.
  • Shipping cost: Orders over $200 ship free. Otherwise it's a $5 flat rate in the contiguous US.

Our tip: order the belt now so it's in hand for the title game, then order the new champion's plaque the day after it's decided.

FAQ

What's the best fantasy football belt for most leagues?

For leagues that plan to stick around, the Semi-Custom ($219) is the sweet spot. You get your league name on the front and two blank mid-plates for 12 to 24 seasons of champions. If price comes first, the OG ($189) gives you the same full-size belt with a fixed front plate.

How many champions can a belt hold?

Each mid-plate fits up to 6 plaques. With 1 champion per plaque that's 6 seasons per plate. With 2 champions per plaque it's 12. Two blank mid-plates gives you 12 to 24 seasons.

Can I customize the OG belt?

Yes, just not the front. Add champion plaques to the blank mid-plate, a League Name Plaque to the blank end-plate, or a Full-Plate Logo Engraving. You can also swap the branded mid-plate for a $20 blank one.

Is the Mini belt customizable?

The standard Mini ($49) isn't. The Custom MINI ($75) lets you customize the top and bottom banners, and the Mini-Belt Display Case includes up to 3 lines of free engraving.

Should we get a championship belt or a trophy?

Get a belt if your league runs on trash talk and photo ops. Get a trophy if it'll mostly live on a shelf. Many leagues pass a belt around and give the champ a smaller prize to keep.

How fast will my belt ship?

Orders with no engraving placed before 9:00am CST ship the same business day. Engraved items take 3 to 5 days to process, and we usually get them out faster.
